Odisha Govt Asks Dist Collectors to Implement COVID Appropriate Behavior Strictly to Avoid Spike in New Cases
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today asked the district Collectors to strictly implement COVID-19 appropriate behaviour in their respective districts to avoid any spike in coronavirus cases.
The instruction came in the wake of surge in COVID – 19 positive cases across some States, notably Maharashtra.
In a letter to Collectors of all districts, Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar – Cuttack, all Municipal Commissioners, All DCPs and SPs, PK Mohapatra, Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, has urged them to ensure strict enforcement of COVID appropriate behavior in their districts and citites to prevent any spike in cases.
‘In the recent past there has been a surge of COVID – 19 positive cases across some States, notably Maharashtra. In view of movement of persons across the country, it is quite possible that such a situation may arise in Odisha unless adequate precautions are taken”.
“You are therefore directed to ensure strict enforcement of COVID Appropriate Behavior in your district/city to prevent any spike in cases. Adequate testing levels should be maintained as per guidelines. Special care is to be taken to ensure that these measures are implemented in crowded places such as markets, religious institutions etc. There should not be any deviation in implementing the instructions”, the letter reads.
