Transformation of Lingaraj Temple with a Touch of Spirituality

Bhubaneswar: With the Ekamra Kshetra redevelopment plan going on swiftly and silently, pilgrims today have the first glimpses of the transformation.

In the initial phase of the makeover, a tranquilizing view of the temple periphery can be seen that is no way less attractive than any of the pilgrim centers of India. Gone are the days of jam packed entrance to the 11th Century Temple and today, a spacious surrounding has been developed for providing visitors a heritage site of international repute. The colorfully illuminated temple today presents a new look that everyone wanted to see.

The Ekemra Kshestra redevelopment plan has an ambitious target to transform the Old Town area of Bhubaneswar into one of the best place tourist attraction of India and is being carried out directly under the supervision of 5T Secretary V K Pandian. He himself has visited the temple and reviewed the development work many times in the last few weeks.

The government is contemplating to transform the area in line of the development going on in Puri. While the transformation of Puri is clearly visible, now time has come to have a different look of the Lingaraj Temple periphery.

The widened roads, redeveloped ponds and better parking and crowd management efforts have been fruitful and people are appreciating the change.
