112 Person Came in Contact with Third COVID-19 Patient, says Bagchi

Bhubaneswar: Third COVID-19 patient has came in contact with as may as 112 persons, informed Odisha Government’s spokesperson on COVID-19, Subroto Bagchi today.

Addressing a press meet at Geeta Govinda Sadan here this evening, Bagchi informed that “As on 12 noon today, 256 samples were sent for COVID-19 test and reports of 226 samples have been obtained.”

While the number of COVID-19 positive cases is still three in Odisha, 56 persons are under hospital observation today in different hospitals, he added.

The COVID-19 spokesperson further informed that first two positive cases are currently asymptomatic while the third case is showing  improvment and is free from fever today. Besides, all are taking  normal hospital diet.

Informing about the contacts of the affected persons, Bagchi said that 55 contacts of first two cases are being tracked and 112 contacts of third case have been identified and are in touch.

Speaking in detail, Bagchi said, “the third Coronavirus positive case has came in contact with his wife, daughter, driver and domestic help. Besides, as many as 44 persons came in contact with him at workplace, 7 persons in State Assembly, 21 in a private clinic in Bhubaneswar and three who collected samples.

Moreover, 32 other also came in contact with the patient at a flight from New Delhi.”

Out of 112, 15 persons are yet to be identified and samples of 11 persons were sent for test and the report of only one has been received which was negative. The sample reports of the remaining 10 persons is yet to be obtained, stated Bagchi.

He further added that 7080 peoples have registered themselves online and through 104 helpline, out of which 4286 are from abroad and 2794 are from other states.
