BJD Stands Firm behind Govt, Army over LAC Stand-Off; Cautions Centre over Any Agreement with China

New Delhi: With Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s briefing on the stand-off at LAC with China, the Biju Janata Dal today said in the Rajya Sabha that the regional party from Odisha stands firm with Centre and supports the army action at the LAC.

The BJD also expressed its solidarity and support to the armed forces, which are facing a standoff situation against the Chinese army in eastern Ladakh.

“We support the Government and army, but country’s sovereignty is supreme and it should never be compromised”, BJD Parliamentary party leader in Rajya Sabha, Prasanna Acharya told the Newsroom.co.in.

“The country is proud of its army and the sacrifices made by the soldiers to protect the border”, Acharya said.

Referring to the recent talks between the Indian Defence Minister and Foreign Minister with their Chinese counterparts, Acharya however, cautioned the Government while entering into any agreement with China over the present situation.

Giving example of Panchsheel Treaty, he said China always back stabbed India.

After signing Panchsheel Treaty, they attacked India on 1962. So Government should be very cautious while dealing with China.
