Naveen Appeals to People to Observe 48-Hour Shutdown

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today appealed to the people in the jurisdiction of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and Cuttack Municipal Corporation and Bhadrak Municipal areas to observe the 48-hour total shutdown strictly imposed by the State Government in order to contain community transmission of COVID-19.

In a message, the Chief Minister urged the people to stay at their homes and support the government in its fight against the deadly virus.

Naveen also thanked the people for following the lockdown clamped throughout the State.
The Chief Minister said that this week is very crucial for the State. The government has called for a complete shutdown for 48 hours (from 8PM of 03/04/2020 to 8PM of 05/04/2020) in the areas where the positive cases of COVID-19 have been detected.

This 48-hour is very crucial for the administration. The shutdown will help the administration to trace the contacts of the COVID-19 positive patients, the CM added.

The shutdown may cause difficulties in your lives, but it is highly essential to prevent the spread of the deadly disease, he said.
